The Norfolk Southern Railroad provides local spur service to Cochran for the importation and exportation of goods. All transportation routes have access to the Ports in Savannah and Brunswick, local and regional airports throughout Middle Georgia and international flights through the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.
The Cochran-Bleckley Industrial Development Authority and Chamber of Commerce work very closely with City and County representatives and the Georgia Department of Economic Development to help craft an incentive package that benefits all of the partners in the relationship. The City and County have recently passed the Inventory Tax Exemption (Freeport Exemption) at 100% to assist industries with managing their taxable inventories. In addition to this local exemption, there are numerous other incentives that make locating to Georgia and the Bleckley-Cochran area attractive to business and industry.
The Bleckley-Cochran Industrial Development Authority and the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce work as partners to attract new businesses and then support and enhance their abilities to prosper within our community.
